Local News Running to help cancer charity

Get involved A GOLF club captain called on his junior members to help a cause close to his heart.
“The captain of the golf club nominates a charity they are going to support,” he said. “Just over a year ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It came as quite a surprise but I had an operation at Leeds General Infirmary and I was given the all clear. “I was 60 at the time and it made me think about children and babies having to go through cancer. That’s why I decided to support the charity. I’m not the sort of person who goes out trying to persuade people to donate money but it’s for a really good cause.” Les, now 62, who lives in Wolviston with his wife Mirem, has also enlisted the help of his two sons John and David Crank and David’s partner Stephanie Worn. Transmore Van Hire have offered the use of a minibus for the trip. gazettelive, the Evening Gazette newspaper online. Latest local news from Teesside, Middlesbrough and the North East.
