Professional runners have already started. Fun runners, charity fundraisers and those in fancy dress will join elite athletes in trying to complete the route, from Greenwich and Blackheath in south east London to Buckingham Palace via Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. Former glamour model Katie Price, running for children’s charity Vision, said: “I don’t think you can ever be prepared for the marathon. It’s not a normal distance to run.” The former Page Three girl said she was unhappy at gaining weight during her training programme. “It’s vile. I’m small anyway but I like slender legs. I don’t like real muscle in a girl.
“My jeans don’t fit. I feel like the Incredible Hulk.”
