Labour MP for Leigh, Andy Burnham, helped his team of MPs draw 7-7 against the stars at the match in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The UK Parliamentary Football Club took on a team of celebrities, ex-pros and charity supporters, including footballer Gus Poyet, broadcaster Angus Deayton, DJ Spoony and athlete Darren Campbell.
The MPs, who were losing at half time, managed to turn the game around thanks to a hat-trick from Culture Secretary Andy Burnham, and two goals from former Chelsea and Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet, who had defected from the celebrity team to help the losing MPs.
