Mums To Pedal For Charity 2009: Pair Punnetts

Mums to pedal for charity

A PAIR of Punnett’s Town mothers are preparing to cycle to Brighton and back in aid of village projects.
Lorna Vater and Amy Lushington, of Pont Close, are keen cyclists and will tackle the 55-mile round trip on Sunday. The event has been organised to raise money for the new village hall project, as well as the recently re-opened Little Punnett’s Pre-school. Mrs Lushington explained that they both took part in the London to Brighton bike ride last year and had wanted a new challenge for a local charity. “We both cycle around 150 miles every week, so 55 miles in a day should be well within us,” she said. “We both had children at the old pre-school so were really pleased to see it re-open. We also know that so much work has gone into the village hall project and so wanted to help.” The two will leave from outside the existing hall at 9am.
