Looking for a local business 30 Apr 09 11:09am by Brent O’Neill Suzette Woolley is glad the Pyjama Foundation will benefit from the
Ipswich News Tennis International’s celebrity challenge. WHEN the Ipswich News Tennis International is served up this Saturday, it will not be just the players with butterflies in their stomachs. As more than 60 Pro Circuit stars from around the world gear up for Ipswich’s first professional tennis tournament, the Pyjama Foundation will be anxiously awaiting the result of the charity serve event. To launch the nine-day tournament, a celebrity tennis player will send down 29 serves against a local sporting identity, with each serve successfully returned to net the Pyjama Foundation $1000. Established in 2004, the foundation recruits, screens, trains and supports community volunteers called Pyjama Angels to read to children in foster care on a weekly basis.
According to Pyjama Foundation founder and CEO Bronwyn Sheehan, any money received would be a clear winner for Ipswich children.
