The Royal Star & Garter Homes for Disabled Ex-Service Men & Women opened a new care home in Solihull a year ago, and is now seeking volunteers to help us with fundraising activities.
Since it was established in 1916 to care for disabled young men returning from the front in World War I, the Charity has always been at the forefront of care, providing the best nursing and therapy services and offering an unsurpassed range of activities, outings, and leisure pursuits. Naturally providing such superb care is expensive and the Charity must raise the funds each year to maintain the high standards and wide-ranging facilities in each of its homes, as well as helping to fund the ongoing development programme.
Ways in which volunteers can help include:
Organising events ranging from a simple coffee morning to a concert
Raising sponsorship by participating in events such as walks or fun runs
Making collections at supermarkets, petrol stations etc
Establishing a support group with friends or work colleagues
Selling prize draw tickets
Setting up Payroll Giving within your company
To find out more come and meet Simon Weston, a Vice President of the Charity, and members of the Fundraising team at the Ramada Hotel on Tuesday 8th September between 10 am and 4 pm.
