As reported, Lee, 41, of New Waltham, was riding on the A157 near Kenwick Park, Louth, with Ben, now 21, riding pillion, when the
collision happened in September 2007. The family has since raised more than £10,000 for the Lincolnshire And Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service, which they believe saved Ben’s life. Dave Searby, dad of Lee Searby, front left, Ben Searby, Lee’s son, front right, friend Rob Smith, rear left, and Steve Searby, Lee’s brother. Now Lee’s cousin Rob Smith, 45, from Cleethorpes, and his brother, Stephen Searby, 40, from Scartho, are hoping to lead more than 100 motorcycle riders on a Ride For Life from Cleethorpes to Skegness. Builder Rob said: “We want to raise awareness of bikes on the roads and to try to reduce the number of fatalities. “At the same time we will be asking everybody who takes part to make a donation to the air ambulance.
“Without everything they did, Ben wouldn’t be here today.
