The Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, Steve’s Place, has been under threat from a mining company in Australia.
The reserve in beautiful sunny Queensland is covered with minerals the mining company would like to extract.
At the same time, the sanctuary is home to several endangered species, and is a tribute to life of the wildlife warrior.
The mining company announced they would back down, for now, from a court case pending to mine the reserve.
We can only imagine what great things Steve Irwin would have been able to achieve for nature and the wildlife he loved so much if he had lived on.
