Jonathan Ansell at the Shrewsbury Music Festival People basked in “wall to wall sunshine” in Shropshire as temperatures in the county reached the highest
so far this year. Shropshire Star weatherman John Warner described yesterday as “the most glorious day you could ever possibly imagine” with temperatures reaching 20C (68F). And despite the threat of rain today people took to the streets of Shropshire and Mid Wales to take part in a range of Bank Holiday events. Among the walkers was a group of more than 80 youngsters sporting yellow T-shirts in memory of Bridgnorth teenager Aiden Brookes, who died when a sandstone cave collapsed last month. And hundreds of Shropshire music fans enjoyed a long weekend of sunshine at an event featuring top tribute acts. The aptly named No More Rain Music Festival was held at the West Mid Showground in Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, on Friday, Saturday and yesterday.
