The Marie Curie nurses on Arran recently held a ‘Blooming great Tea Party’ as part of a nationwide event to raise money for the
charity. The Tea Party was held on August 4 at the Wine Port at Claddach, whose owners very kindly allowed the use of their premises for free. Local Marie Curie Nurses and friends helped with baking, tombola prizes and serving up refreshments. The event was attended by many local people and visitors to the island keen to join them for a cuppa and raise money for the charity. A total of £688.49 was raised on the day. Carol Ribbeck Community and Marie Curie Nurse said: ‘A huge thank you to all who helped us raise such a large sum for this very worthwhile cause.’
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
