Saturday’s Summer Spectacular turned out to be just that.
Twilight at the Castle attracted over 350 people who were out to have a good time while supporting a worthy cause. The weather was perfect, as Mother Nature cleared the sky and kept the summer temperatures in the comfortable seventies. This event brought entertainers from across the state and beyond. Among those in attendance were members of Birmingham’s , who spread good cheer and good advice as they advocated for safer sex and provided free protection and literature to attendees. Here the Sisters have found Glenn Shadix, or is it the other way around. Read what Glenn had to say about the event . A donation was requested to gain entry and the bartenders and performers donated their tips to BAO as well. Over $3500 was raised for BAO. Bessemer was fortunate to host such an event, and thanks go out to Castle owners Jonathan and Kyle and to the servers and performers who put so much into pulling this off.
In addition to the benefit to BAO, this event also will raise Bessemer’s stature among the LGBT community, members of which are always looking for rising gayborhoods full of fabulous homes and fun loving people.
