When Scoring A Little Is Just Enough 2009: Uptempo Play

When scoring a little is just enough

In this day of up-tempo play and high-scoring games, it is interesting to know that there’s always those nights when teams just don’t have
it. Penn State will take it. Remember when Saint Louis set a modern NCAA Division I record for fewest points in a game in January 2008, losing to George Washington, 49-20, in Saint Louis coach Rick Majerus’ Atlantic 10 Conference debut The Billikens scored just seven first-half points. Seven, mind you, in 20 minutes of play. That’s three field goals and a free throw. Or no field goals and seven free throws. Or any absurd combination in between.
