194163800 Bid For Rock Star Rods Jacket 2009: Stars Orange

194163800 bid for rock star Rods jacket

The rock star’s orange jacket went under the hammer for &pound810 at the charity fun day held at the Punchbowl Pub in Old Bath
Road in memory of 28-year-old Rosarie Lynch who died in June. Her widow Barry, whose father owns the pub, said: “The day was a great success and went far beyond our expectations. A few locals from the pub came up with the idea at Rosarie’s funeral but we never expected it to become as big as it did.” Rod Stewart’s donation came about because his sister lives in Colnbrook and is a friend of the family, who managed to raise &pound3,000 for Clic Sargent at the fun day which was attended by more than 500 people. Activities on the day included live entertainment and a raffle for adults, while children were entertained with face painting and a bouncy castle. Mr Lynch added:”We would like to thank everybody who turned up and showed such generosity. I am really happy with the amount of money we have raised in Rosarie’s memory and know it will be going to a worthy cause.” Mrs Lynch, of Aintree Close, suffered from a brain abscess four years ago and was regularly in hospital. The mother-of-three contracted meningitis in March which eventually led to hear death on June 9. Most of the money raised at the event on Sunday came from the raffle and personal donations from guests.
