Burglary Leads To Charity Gig 2009: Cruel Burglary

Burglary leads to charity gig

A CRUEL burglary inspired young musicians to hold a concert in aid of children’s charity, CLIC Sargent.
The performers, aged between four and 18, from the Exeter Youth Strings, raised £112 from the concert. It was organised as part of Practice-a-thon Music, one of CLIC Sargent’s fundraising campaigns. The group was inspired to sign up for the event after hearing about the break-in at the charity’s fundraising office in Exeter before Christmas. Kirsty Hugill, director of Exeter Young Strings and organiser of the event, said the group was shocked to learn of the burglary. She said: “We couldn’t believe the fundraising office had been broken into and we wanted to do something to help. I am a parent and like many others I want to support families going through such a difficult time.
