Nearly 350 guests donned their best and headed to McCormick Place in Chicago Feb.
12 for First Look for Charity, one of the Chicago area’s premiere black-tie events. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet was one of 18 charities that benefited from the gala and raised about $90,000 for the agency. First Look for Charity is always held the night before the public opening of the Chicago Auto Show. Some of the most generous Will County families, businesses and community leaders were in attendance. Again this year, Joliet native Terry D’Arcy , his wife, Sue , and the entire D’Arcy family supported the event. Terry was last year’s chairman of the auto show and First Look and was instrumental in getting Catholic Charities added to the line up of charitable beneficiaries. Abundant hors d’oeuvres, champagne, wine and soft drinks awaited those getting the first look at the more than 1,000 new vehicles — some on display for the first time anywhere — at the Chicago Auto Show. The word “big” comes to mind when anyone thinks about the Chicago Auto Show. It is the nation’s largest auto show.
Ditto when it comes to First Look for Charity. It is among Chicago’s biggest single-day charity events.
