She attended a charity event to raise money for Help Abused Women and Their Children, which is a Salem-based agency that combats domestic violence. The crowd at the event seemed pretty impressed with the mayor, as she served drinks and struck up conversations a two-hour shift.
However, it seems some people weren’t too pleased with the mayor’s actions at the event. Many bloggers were less than impressed with the choice of serving alcohol at a charity function to raise money to combat domestic violence. The event ended up raising more than $2,000.
