Pair complete charity flight around UK

6:56pm Sunday 16th August 2009 Two friends from Oxfordshire completed a charity flight around the UK in just one day.
Amanda Harrison, from Brize Norton, and Steve Bridgewater, from Woodstock, visited 25 airfields in under 13 hours after leaving Wellesbourne Mountford, near Stratford-upon-Avon, at 5.15am on Friday. The 34-year-olds were taking part in the Take Flight Dawn Till Dusk Airshow Challenge to raise awareness for their chosen charity, Fly2Help. Competitors tried to cover the greatest distance over the course of a day and one of the judges was Prince Philip. Fly2Help is a registered charity which aims to lift the horizons of people of all ages and from all backgrounds through flight. It supports those with life-limiting and chronic illnesses. Mr Bridgewater said they completed the flight on Friday in 12 hours and 20 minutes.
They flew to 25 airfields and covered 1,126 miles.
