Two national real estate organizations are helping charities through yard sales.
Today, Royal LePage Metro at 77 Vaughan Harvey Blvd. in Moncton will be one of more than 80 offices across Canada participating in the National Garage Sale for Shelter in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. The Moncton event will run today from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The foundation has already donated more than $9 million to charities and helped restore shelters for women and children across Canada. The public can get involved by donating items for the yard sale or holding their own yard sale and donating money to the fund. People who have larger items to donate may contact Deanna at 961-5142 or Ginette at 863-9790 and they will arrange for pick-up. DMCI annual meeting June 9 Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. will hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at noon at the CrownePlaza Hotel. Guest speaker will be Larry Nelson, president of the organizing committee for the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships. There will also be an election of officers for the 2009/10 board. Cost is $40. District 1 names new director of education
School District 1, which administers French-language schools in southeastern New Brunswick, recently named Helene Devarennes as the new director of education. She is a former teacher, principal and administrator in District 11, which administers French-language schools in Northumberland, Kent and Westmorland counties.
