Rocky Carroll NCIS DVD And Hiatus News 2009: Greetings Sudden

Rocky Carroll NCIS DVD and Hiatus News

Greetings, All of a sudden, it’s summer in Los Angeles.
We’ve had near-100 degree weather the last couple of days. The weather’s even hotter in Valencia, where we film NCIS, so I think our hiatus couldn’t have come at a better time. Yes, Season 6 is a wrap. We celebrated the end of the season (cast, crew, post production, publicity, a few guest stars, etc) with a wrap party this past Saturday. It’s one of the few times that everyone connected with the show has a chance to get together. Lots of hugs, handshakes and plans to hang out during hiatus. Pauley Perette introduced us to a great Italian restaurant during the season, so a few of us plan to meet there for dinner during the break. It’s great to work on a show where you want to spend time with each other away from the set. Some of you have asked about the Season 6 DVD and if there’s a roundtable discussion included in the set. I’m happy to report that I took part in my first roundtable discussion with the cast, and hosted by ET’s Kevin Fraizer. It was informative, funny (Michael Weatherly was there, so of course it was funny), and sometimes emotional. I’m sure those of you who get the DVD will enjoy the roundtable. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product. I think I’m still in shock about my other hiatus adventure. I will return to St. Louis for the first time in 23 years. I graduated from Webster University and began my professional career at the Rep. Theatre of St. Louis. In 1986, I left St. Louis for NYC. I guess someone at Webster U. has been keeping an eye on me over the years. I received a letter from the school’s president requesting that I attend this year’s graduation ceremony … and give the commencement speech! Wait, there’s more. I was also informed that I am to receive an honorary Doctorate Degree at the ceremony. Every morning since receiving the president’s letter, I wake up thinking it might have just been a dream. I guess it’s not, because the letter’s still on my desk. I’m honored and humbled beyond belief. Of course, I’ll tell you about it when I return.
Well, enough for now. I have a speech to write.
